Social Media Best Practices. A one-hour free group consultation on legal best practices for social media use from Kenan Farrell, Intellectual Property Attorney at KLF Legal in Indianapolis.

The presentation will begin with an overview of important areas of law that every social media user needs to consider: Intellectual Property, Defamation, Anonymity, Privacy and Censorship. I'll spotlight recent news stories, court decisions and business trends to outline social media best practices for keeping you and your business out of legal trouble. I'll leave plenty of time for Q&A to discuss your legal questions/concerns.

Kenan FarrellKenan Farrell advises clients on a range of intellectual property issues, including copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, and privacy issues, as they relate to technology, new media and the arts. He has provided legal services to businesses and non-profits in international and domestic transactions, as well as litigation and litigation avoidance counsel in state and federal matters. Kenan is the chair of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Executive Committee and he is past chair of the Solo and Small Firm Executive Committee. In the fall of 2011, he’ll teach a newly created course, Art & Museum Law, at his alma mater, Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Even when he’s not on the clock, he’s working to improve the Indianapolis arts. He provides pro bono services to several local arts nonprofits, including a youth theatre and rock camp for girls. He also serves as vice president of IDADA and is on the board of directors of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library.
